Bench option Friday
Diaz (undisclosed) is on the bench for Friday's matchup versus Monterrey.
Analysis: Diaz could see minutes again following a three-week absence. Before that, the winger took three shots (one on goal) and created two scoring chances but failed to make the scoresheet over two Apertura appearances. He's usually one of the Lions' most dangerous attackers on the left flank, though his potential will be limited if he gets few minutes during his return to activity. He'll push for a starting spot at some point, causing Daniel Arcila to return to a central spot and either Fernando Beltran or Luis Alexis Valadez to the bench.
Four shots in loss
Diaz recorded four shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to England.
Analysis: Diaz registered four shots (none on target) and a shot late in the match as Panama searched for a consolation goal that never arrived in Saturday's 2-0 World Cup defeat to England. He was part of a Panama attack that managed 13 shots overall but just two on target across the full 90 minutes against a well-organized English defense. Panama's elimination from the World Cup is confirmed with the result, finishing bottom of Group L without a single goal scored across three matches.
