Chancel Mbemba

Analysis: Mbemba provided the assist to open Wednesday's match, making the most of the only chance he created throughout the match. The defender isn't a consistent goalscoring threat, and is now set to return to Lille after a decent run at the World Cup. Mbemba should be a big contributor back in Ligue 1 with his club side.

Great chance in 3-1 win

Mbemba registered one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 3-1 victory against Uzbekistan.

Analysis: Mbemba had a volley on the stroke of half-time go just by the post on the stroke of halftime as DR Congo beat Uzbekistan 3-1. This win booked DR Congo a place in the knockout stages as one of the best third-placed finishers. The defender has played the full 90 minutes in each group stage game, and this was his first shot of the tournament. He also won his only tackle of the game and made four clearances to help his team pick up a victory defensively.
