Botches PK in Venezia fixture
De Bruyne generated three shots (one on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and five key passes and missed a penalty kick in 36 minutes in Saturday's 1-0 defeat versus Venezia.
Analysis: De Bruyne had a fine performance off the bench, considering his minutes, leading his team in key passes, but he failed to level the game due to a pretty weak attempt from the spot. He's been producing consistently, but his goal contributions have been limited to a brace in the last eight matches. He has created in nine consecutive fixtures, totaling 22. Additionally, this was his sixth game in a row with at least one cross, for a total of 27 (11 accurate), and his fifth straight with one or more corners (19 total).
Swings Genoa game off the bench
De Bruyne scored one goal and assisted once from one shot (one on target) and two chances created in 23 minutes in Saturday's 2-0 win against Genoa.
Analysis: De Bruyne didn't start in the opener but carried the team late, breaking the deadlock with an easy one from the middle of the box after outsmarting a defender and teeing up Antonio Vergara with an excellent pass. He'll split duties with Frank Anguissa and Scott McTominay throughout the campaign and will look to avoid big injuries, which derailed his first Napoli season.
