Shines in losing effort
Martinez had an assist and scored a goal while taking three shots (one on goal), crossing six times (one accurate) and creating four chances during Sunday's 5-2 loss to Real Sociedad.
Analysis: Martinez set up Adrian Nino in the 54th minute before scoring himself in the 66th to play a role in both Malaga goals while leading his side in crosses and chances created. The goal involvements were the first since September 13th for the midfielder as he's combined for six shots, 10 chances created and 26 crosses over his last three starts.
Signs with Malaga
Martinez has signed with Malaga out of free agency, according to his new club.
Analysis: Martinez has found a new club after departing Levante this offseason, as the midfielder has inked a deal with another La Liga side, Malaga. He served a decent role in Levante's team last campaign, recording one goal and five assists in 27 appearances (21 starts). This will give the club a player with La Liga experience, likely pushing for starting time once integrated into the team.
