Pereira (groin) had three crosses (zero accurate), three tackles and one clearance as a substitute in Wednesday's 3-3 draw against Charlotte.
Analysis: Pereira came off the bench and operated on the left flank in his first MLS appearance since April 11, having completed his recovery from a tricky groin issue. The versatile player will now increase his side's options in the contention with Jackson Gilman and Daniel Salloi at the back and on the wing, respectively.
Will miss multiple months
Pereira (groin) will undergo surgery and is expected to miss between eight to 12 weeks, the club announced Friday.
Analysis: The left wing-back played just two games (one start) before suffering the injury, and the recovery process of the surgery will keep him sidelined until the summer in a best-case scenario. Look for Raheem Edwards to fill a bigger role while Pereira is out.
