Amundsen recorded six crosses (zero accurate) and three clearances in Wednesday's 2-1 defeat against CF Montreal.
Analysis: Amundsen set a season high with six crosses in Saturday's loss but failed to record an accurate cross or a chance created despite that volume. The defender still is without a goal contribution this season after recording 12 across the last three campaigns with Columbus, and he has just two clean sheets as the defense continues to struggle. He and the Crew will need to get back on track quickly in order to make the playoffs and salvage what has been a poor season to this point.
Questionable with thigh issue
Amundsen is a doubt for Sunday's clash against New York City FC as he deals with a thigh injury, according to the MLS player status report.
Analysis: Amundsen could miss his first MLS match in almost a year if he fails to recover from this problem. In that case, Yevgen Cheberko may be able to fill in at left-back. Amundsen has been a solid defensive performer, so losing him would be tough news for the club for as long as he's sidelined.
Keeps clean sheet versus Union
Amundsen generated one cross (one accurate) and one tackle in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union.
Analysis: Amundsen kept his second clean sheet of the season Saturday, his first since March 8. He made five clearances and four interceptions -- both for just the second time this season -- and won one tackle on the defensive end. He also recorded one accurate cross as he played the full 90 minutes for the 10th consecutive match to start the season.
