Two shots versus Morocco
McTominay had two shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Friday's 1-0 loss to Morocco.
Analysis: McTominay managed two shots in his second straight match to start this World Cup, but once again he failed to put either shot on target. His best chance came late on in the match where he jumped high to attempt a scissor kick on John McGinn's cross but failed to connect cleanly. He also created one chance on the attack. Despite an early error, McTominay and the Scottish defense played fairly well, holding Morocco to just two shots on target. With everything to play for in the final group stage match versus Brazil on Wednesday, McTominay will need to be at his absolute best in order to send his country through to the knockouts.
Hits post in World Cup opener
McTominay recorded two shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Haiti.
Analysis: McTominay took two shots as Scotland beat Haiti 1-0 in their World Cup opener, but was only able to find the post. The Napoli midfielder recovered from an illness in the lead-up to the game and was able to play the full 90 minutes. He wasn't able to be involved as he would have liked in the game, likely due to the heat and the illness he had in the week. He scored 10 goals this season for Napoli in Serie A and a further four in the Champions League.
