Anchors defense with 11 clearances
Potulski generated one tackle (zero won) and 11 clearances in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Schalke.
Analysis: Potulski recorded 11 clearances while attempting one tackle without winning it across the full 90 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 victory at Schalke. The center-back helped Mainz keep the hosts scoreless despite facing nine shots, with Schalke becoming increasingly dangerous during the final stages as they searched for an equalizer. Potulski's 11 clearances represented an outstanding defensive workload and provided substantial fantasy production while contributing to Mainz's clean sheet and third consecutive away victory. Potulski has been an undisputed starter in the back line for Mainz this season, contributing 11 tackles, five interceptions and 28 clearances in six appearances (five starts).
Starts in season finale
Potulski had three shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 victory over FC Heidenheim.
Analysis: Potulski earned the start Saturday as the young 18-year-old tries to enter the squad more frequently, playing the full 90. This marks his second start in the final three games of the season, adding to his nine start sin 15 appearances this campaign. Moving into the 2026/27 season, more time should come, recording 15 tackles won, 18 interceptions and 73 clearances this campaign.
