Westfield assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Inter Miami CF.
Analysis: Westfield continues to be one of the creative weapons in a team where the full backs have provided the most creative solutions, with him and Kai Wagner doing so from opposite flanks. Westfield added his fourth assist across his last six games and took another shot in the match. The full back was solid defensively as well, winning two tackles and adding three interceptions and three clearances. Westfield has created at least two chances in each of his last six appearances and made 29 crosses (six accurate) during that stretch.
Returns to starting XI Sunday
Westfield (hip) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with Inter Miami.
Analysis: Westfield has been selected over Olivier Mbaizo immediately after completing his recovery from the hip issue that sidelined him in the previous couple of league contests. The young full-back is expected to feature on the right flank, which was his position in each of his last two MLS starts. With 58 crosses, 13 chances created and one assist this season, he could hold decent attacking value if he stays healthy in the future.
Dealing with hip contusion
Westfield is considered day-to-day but could be ruled out of the midweek clash against Orlando because of a contusion in the hip, according to manager Bradley Carnell, Jonathan Tannenwald of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Westfield ended up with a mild injury from the blow he picked up in last weekend's loss to New England Revolution, but the next game appears to come too soon for him. Thus, Olivier Mbaizo, who replaced Westfield in the last match, might get a rare chance to feature at right-back. The 20-year-old had made 10 MLS starts prior to the issue, delivering an assist over that span.
Suffers injury in loss
Westfield left with a potential injury in the 31st minute of Saturday's 2-1 loss to New England Revolution.
Analysis: Westfield was replaced by Olivier Mbaizo after getting hurt during his second consecutive start at right-back. If he's dealing with a significant issue, he'll be unlikely to take part in the upcoming double game week against Orlando and Columbus and may not see a lot of action until after the World Cup break. He has made a diverse impact this season, but losing him would limit the team's power mainly in defensive aspects.
