Dealing with discomfort
Azon was not with the team for Thursday's 1-1 tie against Universitatea Craiova in Conference League play due to discomfort.
Analysis: Azon was not able to travel to Romania for Thursday's contest, left off the squad list completely due to some discomfort. The unfortunate news is that he is yet to rejoin the collective training, seemingly set to miss more time as they head back into league action. He has started in four of his five appearances this season while earning one goal and an assist, so this does force some change for the club. If he continues to miss time, Borja Mayoral is set to be their top option at forward due to numerous injuries. However, Enes Unal (undisclosed) seems to be close to a return.
Returns to Como
Azon will return to parent club Como after helping Ipswich Town secure promotion back to the Premier League, the club announced.
Analysis: Azon made 38 Championship appearances including five goals and four assists across the campaign in what was a solid contribution to Ipswich's second place. Azon brought pace, directness and a reliable goal return from the right flank that made him a useful option throughout the promotion push, and Como will now assess his future having seen him develop further at Championship level.
