Suffers minor knock against Mainz
Aouchiche (knock) was spotted limping after Saturday's 1-0 Bundesliga defeat against Mainz, but the injury is not considered serious, according to coach Miron Muslic. "It was just contact with Adil."
Analysis: Aouchiche finished Saturday's defeat against Mainz with some discomfort after taking a knock during the match. Although the attacking midfielder was seen limping afterward, manager Miron Muslic indicated that the issue was simply the result of contact with an opponent and is not expected to have any serious consequences. The injury appears minor, and Aouchiche is unlikely to face an extended absence, although his condition will be monitored ahead of Schalke's next fixture.
Creative spark in midfield
Aouchiche ended the season having contributed three goals and two assists across 1,126 minutes for Schalke, bringing a burst of creativity and quality in the final months of the club's promotion-winning campaign.
Analysis: Aouchiche, formerly of PSG, delivered standout performances late in the season including goals against Paderborn and Preussen Munster, posting an outstanding average rating that reflected his growing influence in the side. Aouchiche heads into the Bundesliga as one of Schalke's most technically gifted attacking options, and his late-season form suggests he could be poised for an expanded role as the club returns to the top flight of German football.
