Out against Strasbourg
Moumbagna is not in Marseille's squad for Friday's season opener against Strasbourg.
Analysis: Moumbagna has not featured in the club's last three preseason friendlies, extending a run of absences that began with lingering discomfort at Marseille's training camp in the Netherlands after he was already pulled from a starting lineup during warmups earlier in preseason. His continued unavailability leaves his path back into rotation contention up front unclear, with the club needing to reassess his status in the coming days.
Back in Marseille
Moumbagna will return to parent club Marseille following the conclusion of his loan spell at Cremonese.
Analysis: Moumbagna made five Serie A appearances across 88 minutes for Cremonese in a limited role, having struggled to nail down a consistent starting position. Moumbagna had previously made 13 Ligue 1 appearances and seven Europa League outings for Marseille in 2022/23, contributing four goals and one assist, and now heads back to the club where his future will be assessed heading into the 2026/27 season under new coach Bruno Genesio.
Unavailable in Como game
Moumbagna (thigh) didn't make Cremonese's squad list to face Como on Sunday.
Analysis: Moumbagna hasn't played since late March because of a thigh injury that proved to be tougher to overcome than initially thought. He has featured just five times off the bench this season, tallying two shots (zero on target), one key apss and one cross (zero accurate). He'll likely head back to Olympique Marseille in the summer.
